A Tribute to Johnny Cash
Several years ago,
Loren started playing Johnny Cash songs. After
awhile, he started dressing like Johnny, and over many performances,
has developed a program that impersonates Johnny Cash. Loren has become
a historian (so to speak) of not only the music, but the life and times
of the late great entertainer.
Johnny Cash has been
called "the philosopher-prince of country music,"
and an "icon of Americanism." His music has affected the music scene
from the 1950's to the 21st century. On January 24th, 2011, Johnny Cash
was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. Having been previously
inducted into the Rock and Roll, Country Western, and Nashville
Songwriter's Hall of Fames, this made him the only artist to have been
inducted into all four categories.
In honor of Johnny's
induction, Loren has developed A Tribute to
Johnny Cash show. Loren's show includes many of Johnny Cash's
greatest hits, along with a telling of Johnny's colorful life. Loren
shares stories about Johnny's humble beginnings in Kingsland, Arkansas,
the tragic loss of his older brother Jack and the impact that had on
his life, Johnny's days of addiction, his home in Jamaica, and the time
he was attacked by an ostrich and nearly lost his life!
